CPR & First Aid Course

Want to learn how to save a life? Looking to do the SSI Level 2 or AIDA 4-star freediver course? Are you a teacher or therapist? Or do you need to refresh your current skills and qualification?

Then join us for a day to earn an internationally-recognised and certified course in handling medical emergency situations, giving first aid and carrying out CPR. There are no pre-requisites for taking the CPR & First Aid Course and children are very welcome.

The EFR Primary Care/CPR and Secondary Care Course conforms to the HSE standards for appointed persons in the workplace and has the added benefits of teaching Oxygen administration and how to defibrillate someone using an AED machine. In a fun and supportive environment, you will learn how to deal with all kinds of emergency situations as well as how to deal with first aid situations.

A  CPR & First Aid Course is mandatory for Level 2 freedivers and higher, as well as all yoga teachers and therapists although it is recommended that everyone takes this course. If you have already done a similar course then you will need to get your skills refreshed and updated at least every two years. There have been lots of changes recently in the field of Emergency Care and this course will give you the ideal opportunity to learn about them.

Early booking is essential as spaces are limited and each participant will be required to read their manual and complete two knowledge reviews based on what they read prior to attending the day.

Free diving is a sport that requires the people to explore water bodies without the aid of an external breathing apparatus such as an oxygen tank. Thus, it differs vastly from scuba diving, where people are required to wear a lot of safety gear and tanks so that they can breathe as they explore the water body. This means that while this sport is extremely interesting and enigmatic, it can also be extremely dangerous for those who have not got the proper training, as well as experts who may misjudge their own capabilities at times. This is why, most people who are interested in learning how to free dive also should learn to do a CPR and first aid course so that they can help out their fellow divers if they need any medical assistance.

With the help of a CPR and first aid course, you will be able to revive divers if they have lost their consciousness due to a lack of oxygen. You will also be able to help heal injured divers if they have been hurt on the site. This is mandatory for all the divers who are at Level 2 expertise.

I stabilised a young lady with open wounds, maybe broken leg and experiencing shock after being hit by a car right in front of me!! I’m actually still in a bit of shock myself but I reacted quickly and remembered what you taught me. I can’t believe it was so soon after certification! I did all the steps and felt very prepared. Anyways, just calming down now and feeling thankful that I could help. Thank you for teaching me!”
