    Discover how to deal with all kinds of emergency situations, as well as administer first aid, in a fun and supportive environment with Go Freediving. Where?: Vobster Quay When?: Saturday 20th September (please note this is a morning course, so will not interfere with any other courses being run on this day) Cost: £99 non-members | £89 club members Details: Freediving involves diving underwater without the aid of external breathing apparatus, such as a scuba oxygen tank. This means that while freediving is extremely rewarding, it can also be extremely dangerous if you haven't got the proper training or you misjudge your capabilities. This is why most people who are interested in learning how to freedive also do a CPR and first aid course so that they can help out their fellow divers if they need any medical assistance. With our CPR and First Aid course, you'll be taught how to revive divers if they lose consciousness and treat injured divers while you wait for the emergency services. This course is suitable for:
    • Any freediver wishing to increase their buddying skills
    • Any freediver undertaking/planning to undertake the RAID Advanced Freediver Course
    • Any freediver undertaking/planning to undertake the RAID Master Freediver Course
    • Any person (particularly those involved in water sports) with expired first aid skills who needs to renew their certifiation
    • Any person (particularly those involved in water sports) who would like to gain a first aid certification in this field..
    For freedivers, the CPR and First Aid course is mandatory for the RAID Advanced and RAID Master Freediver and SSI Level 2 courses.  If you've already done a similar course, you must refresh and update your skills every two years. There have been lots of changes recently in the field of emergency care and this course will give you the ideal opportunity to learn about them. Early booking is essential as spaces are limited. You'll be required to read a manual and complete two knowledge reviews prior to attending the course.

    A fantastic opportunity to Freedive and learn from Emma Farrell

    Following the success of the Freediving Masterclasses with Emma Farrell last season we will be running another Masterclass during the 2025 season. Her classes are limited to 4 students and are run by Emma herself. If you are looking to improve and practice your freediving skills these classes are an amazing chance for you to do so. The classes are held at Vobster Quay and are for anyone that has done a freediving course, even if you have not yet passed. The masterclass will help you perfect your skills and is also a chance to have any skills signed off that you did not manage to complete on your course in order to be certified. These classes are not aimed at depth but rather focus on skills and technique. When: 28th June (8:30 am - 1.30 pm) Where:                                                                                                                                Vobster Quay What is included:
    • 2 dive sessions with Emma Farrell
    • Individual assessment and tutoring
    • Focus on core skills
    • Sign off skills (if applicable)
    • Only 4 spaces available
    Requirements:
    • Medical Questionnaire (not older than 6 months)
    • Must have done the Open Water Freediver course (Not necessary to have passed)
    • Minimum of SSI level one or Aida 2* (if you qualified with any other programme, please get in touch).
    What is not included:

    Intermediate Freediving Masterclass with Emma Farrell

    A fantastic opportunity to improve your freediving skills with world-leading instructor Emma Farrell

    Following the success of the freediving masterclasses with Emma, we are delighted to introduce a masterclass aimed at intermediate and advanced students. The class is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to dive deeper, use the lilypad freediving platform, prepare for the RAID advanced freediver course or simply hone and advance your skills. You’ll learn how to:
    • Master buoyancy to improve depth and dive time
    • Buddy for deep dives
    • Use a lanyard and the freediving platform
    • Safely extend your limits
    In addition, you’ll be working with Emma on equalisation, technique and dive preparation in order to improve your performance and confidence in the water, and diving within the limits of your current qualification (20m for RAID Freediver and equivalent, and 30m for RAID Advanced Freediver and equivalent). When: Saturday  13th September (1.30 pm - 7pm) Where:                                                                                                                                Vobster Quay What's included:
    • 2 dive sessions with Emma Farrell
    • Individual assessment and tutoring
    Pre-requisites:
    • Medical Declaration (not older than 6 months)
    • Must have passed the Open Water Freediver course if you trained with us
    • Be a minimum of SSI level one or Aida 2* if you trained elsewhere. If you qualified with any other programme, please get in touch .
    • Be confident diving to ten metres
    • Own a professional freediving lanyard (these can be purchased in advance from Go Freediving). We have two lanyards available for hire (at a cost of £10 each) on a first come, first served basis.
    What's not included:
    • Vobster Quay entry fee
    • Kit and wetsuit hire
    • Snacks/drinks
