Freediving Instructor

I’ve always loved water.

I was at Vobster many years ago and met Emma by total coincidence  and we started talking about film and art and freediving, and the ocean embracing you when you’re in freefall, and that was it for me.

I did the RAID Freediver course, and kept on going, and now I’m an instructor and absolutely love teaching people to freedive.

I have a couple of freediving experiences that really stand out for me: the first time I did a freefall at Vobster, it was magical. And I went on one of the liveaboard trips to the red sea and freedived with dolphins, and saw the corals, and drift dived, and it was absolutely gorgeous.

One of the most incredible teaching experiences for me was working alongside Emma teaching Darren Edwards, who is paralysed from the chest down. He felt liberated from his wheelchair and it was a glorious thing to be a part of.

Teaching freediving is one of the most satisfying and rewarding things I’ve ever done.
